4AI will release PlanetMars3D: Spirit Mission on 30 July 2026, bringing NASA Spirit rover Pancam photographs into an explorable Universe3D-powered Mars experience.

4AI is preparing to release PlanetMars3D: Spirit Mission on 30 July 2026, the first app under the PlanetMars3D brand and a new showcase for the Universe3D technology platform.

PlanetMars3D: Spirit Mission transforms real Pancam photographs from NASA’s Spirit rover into explorable 3D albums. Instead of browsing Mars as a flat image gallery, viewers can move through the mission as a spatial experience: glide between photographs, jump to points of interest, or let an automated flythrough guide the camera.

A new Universe3D experience

Universe3D powers 4AI’s game-like approach to high-resolution photo exploration. The same core technology behind Album3D is now being used to present a curated public archive from one of humanity’s most memorable Mars rover missions.

What PlanetMars3D: Spirit Mission includes

  • Curated albums of real Spirit rover Pancam photographs.
  • Interactive 3D navigation through mission highlights and Martian locations.
  • Progressive detail so large collections can be skimmed quickly, then resolved sharply up close.
  • Manual exploration, slideshow playback, and automated flythrough modes.
  • Multiple viewing layouts and customizable display options.

About the mission

Spirit landed in Gusev Crater in January 2004 and continued operating for more than six years. PlanetMars3D: Spirit Mission focuses on a hand-picked selection from the public Pancam archive, including imagery connected to Gusev Crater and the Columbia Hills.

PlanetMars3D: Spirit Mission is a dedicated viewer for curated Spirit rover Pancam albums. It is not a personal photo editor or project-creation tool; Album3D remains the app for building personal 3D photo experiences.

Release date

PlanetMars3D: Spirit Mission is scheduled for release on 30 July 2026. The Steam page is available at .
